Check-in as an exempt traveller
Use this service if:
You need to provide documentation or identification to support your registration. This might include:
- work ID card
- documents for child custody arrangements
- proof of medical appointment
- proof of legal proceeding
After you complete the check-in, you will receive a confirmation email. You will need to show this email when you arrive at the border along with documents supporting your reason for travel.

The personal information you provide online for the Nova Scotia Safe Check-in form is collected under the authority sections 8, 15 and 50 of the Health Protection Act (PDF). The submitted personal information via this form is subject to the Government of Nova Scotia’s security and privacy policies. The collected personal information will only be used to facilitate COVID-19 Screening process, unless otherwise authorized by law or your express consent. Any secondary use without express consent is limited to aggregate, de-identified information.
